WHO WE ARE
Mark McDonald, a Senior Partner and founding member of both Oldacre McDonald and M Cubed Developments, has 30 years of experience in commercial development. He graduated from Vanderbilt University and began his real estate career with Marteq Corporation, a residential and commercial development company based in Nashville, Tennessee. During his affiliation with Marteq, his primary responsibility was the development of the outlet mall concept and construction management of the first outlet mall in the United States. In 1984, Mark joined Rochford Construction Company as a partner in charge of residential and commercial development. In 1991, he founded The Signature Group to focus on the development of credit anchored shopping centers and property management. Later that year The Signature Group merged with Newton Oldacre to form Newton Oldacre McDonald, now Oldacre McDonald, LLC.
Oldacre McDonald, LLC is a full service real estate firm, specializing in the development of shopping centers and single tenant buildings throughout the United States. Over the past 30 years the company’s principals, Bill Oldacre and Mark McDonald have been responsible for the development of over 425 retail, office, hotel and residential projects in 26 states, with over 12 million square feet of commercial space.
In 2019, McDonald co-founded M Cubed Developments to focus on urban redevelopment opportunities in Nashville and the Southeastern United States.
Mark McGinley is the CEO and co-founder of M Cubed Developments.
Mark has several years of experience as a commercial real estate lawyer, having been called to the bar in 2014. His practice consisted of transactions, joint ventures, development projects, leasing, and commercial real estate litigation. He holds a B. Comm from the University of Calgary, and Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Dalhousie University.
Mark left his career in law to join Certus Developments, a privately held commercial real estate development company based in Calgary, Alberta, as its Vice President of Development & Acquisitions. During his three years at Certus, Mark lead the development of several successful urban development projects. Mark also led Certus’ expansion into the United States, choosing Nashville to look for value-added development projects. Through that expansion, Mark connected with Mark McDonald, and together they started M Cubed Developments to seize opportunities in the burgeoning “apart-hotel” and urban multifamily markets.
After graduating from the University of Georgia with a BBA degree in Marketing, Katherine moved to New York City to work in the fashion industry. After three years of working in the wholesale department at Vince, one of the top contemporary clothing brands in the world, Katherine moved back to Nashville and made the transition to commercial real estate.
In January 2016, Katherine started working at Oldacre McDonald – a firm specializing in shopping center and build-to-suit retail development projects across the United States. Katherine pursues new development deals based on the growth strategies of OM’s retail partners. Most recently, Katherine joined M Cubed as a Senior Director, focusing on Investor Relations and project management.
Andrew graduated from the College of Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech with a focus in Construction Engineering and Management along with a minor in Business. After college, Andrew joined the team at HITT Contracting, a top 50 Contractor, in Washington D.C. where he was a Project Engineer and Assistant Project Manager in the Interiors Division.
After 3 years in D.C., Andrew chose to continue his career by moving to Nashville, TN to begin working with Oldacre McDonald as a Construction Manager, where he advanced to Senior Construction Manager. In addition to his role at OM, Andrew serves as Senior Director of Construction for M Cubed, where he oversees all construction activities for the company.
